I first met Derek through personal training! He told me about his fiance, Tia, and their plans to have a small wedding in Hawaii. I, of course, had to make sure that whoever photographed their wedding did them absolute justice! Fast forward, with the pandemic, they chose to stay local for their wedding but that didn’t take away from what a special day this was. I love and respect how Tia & Derek handled the season of setbacks. Through it all, they remained so grounded and truly focused on what this was all about – finally tying the knot after being engaged since 2017!
Tia & Derek – I am sooo happy that after all the changes, you guys got to walk down the aisle & say “I do”, & that you allowed me to be a part of this amazing day. Even though it may not have been the wedding that you originally planned, I truly believe that this was exactly the wedding you were meant to have. Thank you for not second guessing me when I swept you away for husband & wife desert photos, that light & background was just TOO PERFECT. 🙂 (and thank you Derek for not letting that dog run into us on the drive back haha!)
I felt so truly blessed to be there & have nothing but love and affection for you and both of your families. I pray that no matter how much time passes, no matter what season of life you may be in, for better or worse, no matter how old or how gray you are, that these photos will always take you right back to where it all started. Thank you for inviting me to capture your beautiful micro-wedding & trusting me to document this memory for you both. (& thank you Tim for peer pressuring me into eating that ONE bite of cake 😉 It was worth it!)
